Will I have new scars?

Whenever possible, Dr. Aghayan will try to make incisions for breast implant revision surgery in the same places as your original augmentation incisions. In some cases, however, it may be necessary to make incisions in new locations.

Revision surgery may use a periareolar incision (along the lower border of the areola), an inframammary incision (beneath the breast fold), or TUBA incision (transumbilical, through the belly button). The best way to mitigate the appearance of scars after surgery is to closely follow the scar care instructions provided to you by Dr. Aghayan after surgery. When cared for properly, any new incisions will heal flat and blend with your normal skin.
